Gems by Gina is a sole proprietor company. Georgina is retired and 80 years old. She found, in retirement, that metal smithing was actually her passion and her art of choice, after having dabbled in many other art forms.

Georgina gathers rock from shows and scavenging on the land. These rocks are slabbed, shapes are drawn on the slabs, then cut with a trim saw. The shapes are then glued to a dop stick and put through 6 grinding wheels of varying grit to create a smooth, polished gem that can be set in silver, copper or brass.

Georgina then designs the piece of jewelry around the stone. She makes rings, pendants, earrings, bracelets, bolo ties and belt buckles. She has even made a hat pin. Stop by and have a look at all the varied styles and rock gems that her booth has.
